Sigmazinc 158 - Moisture curing Zinc Silicate Primer

Description:
Two component zinc (ethyl) silicate primer, certified to ASTM A-490 Class ‘B’ and meets SSPC Paint 20, Level 2.

Characteristics:

• Anti-corrosive primer for steel structures
• Galvanic action eliminates undercoat corrosion
• Good curing at low temperatures
• Wear and impact resistant

Compatible with:

• Self, zinc silicate shop primer
• Epoxy follow-up coat

Color and sheen:

• Gray, green gray, matte

Instructions for use:

• Stir well until homogeneous (max. 5 minutes).
• Too much dilution reduces resistance to sagging.

Drying times:

• Paintable after 18 hours at 10°C.

Dilution:

• Sigma Thinner 90-53

Processing temperature:

• Can be processed down to -5°C.

Efficiency:

• Approx. 8.7 m² per liter for a dry film thickness of 75 µm.

Surface:

• Steel, zinc silicate

Application methods:

• Spraying, brushing, rolling (above the waterline only)
