Description

Sigmacover 555 is a two-component, polyamide-cured epoxy bonding coat that serves as the final coat in anticorrosive epoxy systems and as a bonding coat for antifouling.

Applicability Sigmacover 555 Black

This coating is applied to steel structures exposed to water, such as ship hulls and offshore structures, where it acts as a bonding layer between epoxy primers and antifouling coatings.

Available in black with a eigluster finish.

Instructions for use

Stir the paint well before use until it is homogeneous in color and structure; in practice, up to 5 minutes of stirring is sufficient. Too much dilution may reduce resistance to sagging.

Drying times and thinning

• Dust dry: 6 hours at 20°C
• Paintable: after 12 hours at 10°C
• Fully cured: after 7 days at 20°C

The recommended thinner for Sigmacover 555 is Sigma Thinner 91-92.

Yield and layer thickness

The theoretical yield is 7.5 m² per liter at a dry film thickness of 75 µm. The recommended dry film thickness is 75-150 µm per coat.

Application methods

Sigmacover 555 Black can be applied by brush, roller or spray equipment.

Mixing ratio

Mix the base component and hardener in a volume ratio of 86:14 for optimum chemical reaction and performance.
