Description

SigmaDur 550 H (Gloss) - 2-component, high-build aliphatic acrylic polyurethane topcoat.

Description

The Sigmadur 550H is a 2-component coating based on aliphatic acrylic polyurethane. It provides a high gloss, durable finish with abrasion resistance and color retention. The finish coat has a high solids content. It is suitable for long-term exposure to atmospheric conditions.

Applicability Sigmadur 550H

This product is ideal for metal surfaces exposed to aggressive environments, such as offshore structures, bridges and industrial facilities.

Characteristics

  • Excellent color and gloss retention
Even with prolonged exposure to UV radiation, the coating retains its original gloss and color. This makes the product suitable for applications where appearance is important, such as in construction or on exposed metal structures.
  • Low temperature processability
The Sigmadur 550H cures at temperatures as low as -5°C, making it suitable for use in cold climates or in situations where temperature control is difficult to achieve.
  • Can be applied directly to metal

Compatible

The Sigmadur 550H is compatible with epoxy paint systems.

Color and gloss level

This product is available in standard colors and RAL colors, with high gloss finish.

Instructions for use

For optimum performance, it is important to stir the paint well before application. Stir for up to five minutes to ensure the components are well mixed. An excessive amount of thinner can reduce the paint's resistance to sagging, so it is important to use the recommended amount of Sigma Thinner 21-06 for thinning.

Drying times

Sigmadur 550H is repaintable after 16 hours at a temperature of 10°C.

Processing temperature

Up to a temperature of 10°C, Sigmadur 550H is workable.

Yield

The yield is about 14 m² per liter at a dry film thickness of 50 µm.

Application methods

Sigmadur 550H can be applied by a variety of methods, including spraying, brushing and rolling (above the waterline only).

Mixing ratio

The mixing ratio for Sigmadur 550 is 87:13. This means that for every 87 parts of the base component, 13 parts of hardener must be added. The proper mixing of these components is important for obtaining the desired properties.
