Oléus Puralin BT (Float coat) 20 liters

Oléus Puralin BT is an oily liquid consisting of oils, anti-rust additives and lanolin (wool fat). The product is free of solvents. Oléus Puralin BT penetrates into old rust layers and thereby extinguishes further rust formation. Description

Oléus Puralin BT is an oily liquid consisting of oils, anti-rust additives and lanolin (wool fat). The product is free of solvents. Oléus Puralin BT penetrates into old rust layers and thereby extinguishes further rust formation. In a humid environment, the product floating on water (salt and fresh) will form a non-drying emulsified soft protective layer. Oléus Puralin BT can also be used as a float coat.

Applications

Oléus Puralin BT is a liquid that penetrates rust. It floats on water and is also suitable for use as a float coating. It stops rust formation on rusted and bare steel, in ballast tanks and in double sides/bottoms of ships, drilling platforms, dry docks, insides of lock doors and rudders and many other applications in the shipping and industrial environment. Specific pre-treatment is not necessary, but it is advisable if possible.

Advantages

  • Contains oils and wool fat;
  • Contains anti-rust inhibitors;
  • Contains adhesive additives;
  • Contains no solvents, so non-toxic during application;
  • Requires minimal surface preparation;
  • Penetrates existing rust;
  • Adheres to steel surfaces and provides complete protection;
  • Does not dry, so it cannot crack.;
  • Can be applied with airless spray, sponge, scrub brush, roller and flotation;
  • Easy to remove if necessary;
  • Packaged in twenty liter lockable cans with spout;
  • Easy to apply;
  • Impregnating, which stops rust formation;
  • Does not evaporate;
  • Surface preparation such as thorough sanding, chipping, blasting or brushing is not necessary;
  • With constant water load, emulsion formation, no saponification.

Consumption of spray, brush or roller: 1 liter on 6 - 10 m², one liter on one m³ tank capacity. Consumption of flotation application: 1 liter on 6 m² to 10 m², 0.4 liter on one m³ tank capacity.

Apply with a sprayer, sponge, scrubber, brush or roller. Flotation method is especially recommended for difficult to reach areas e.g. ballast tanks and when the costs of surface preparation, cleaning and application are heavy. If the protective layer is minimized, the product must be applied again. Product emulsifies with water, creating a white greasy protective layer. Store product in a cool and dark place, < 20°C. Do not place packaging in direct sunlight. Product must absolutely not be spilled into the living environment or surface water.

Surface preparation

  • Remove loose rust parts;
  • Clean the tank as best as possible, removing sludge and other sediments;
  • Rinse salt residue from the tank;
  • Avoid puddles of water on the bottom;
  • Tank must be free of water accumulation in nooks and crannies;
  • The most ideal situation is that the steel surface is free of loose rust, dirt and as dry as possible

Instructions for use spray and/or brush and roller

  • Shake and/or stir well before use;
  • Airless spray nozzle 0.4 – 0.7 mm, for spraying: product while continuously heating up to 45°C;
  • Do not use solvents or thinners;
  • Clean spray equipment and brushes with non-drying oil.

Instructions for using flotation method | Float coat

  • Lubricate the tank bottom and all vertical parts up to a height of 5 cm with Oléus Puralin BT.
  • Use a brush, broom or roller for this;
  • Allow the applied product to work for at least 12 hours;
  • Fill the tank with an amount of Oléus Puralin BT, 2 liters per m³ tank capacity;
  • Increasing the level of the water should not be more than 1 cm per 5 minutes;
  • Avoid turbulence in the water;
  • Ensure that the vessel is trimmed in such a way that the vent is at the highest part of the tank, thus preventing air pockets;
  • Fill the tank accurately to ensure that no product is spilled into surface water;
  • Empty the tank as slowly as possible so that no product liquid is spilled into the surface water;
  • Ensure that deballasting stops before the product reaches the suction line;
  • Repeat the cycle at least twice;
  • Check that the tank has been completely treated;
  • Untreated surfaces after treatment with a brush or roller.

Safety regulations, in short.
