Product description

Oléus HoldTec FM is an alkyd resin-based clearing paint.

Applications

Oléus HoldTec FM preserves clearing of ships and metal structures in a food-friendly manner.

Advantages

• This culling paint has been tested for food friendliness and approved by the Dutch Institute for Applied Scientific Research (TNO) in Delft;
• Food approval based on Dutch and EU legislation, it complies with regulation EC 1895/2005 of November 18, 2005 and regulation EC 1935/2004 of October 27, 2004. The approval is valid until October 2018;
• Product may be in contact with dry food for a short or long time;
• Extremely suitable for clearing ships that have been or will be inspected for the hygiene code - Product Board Animal Feed - inland shipping;
• Can be applied over most existing systems;
• Rust impregnating effect;
• Strong covering power;
• Easy to apply;
• Surface drying, no adhesion of load residues;
• Does not drip at high temperatures;
• Good adhesion to pre-treated old paint layers;

Basic information

Instructions for use Oléus HoldTec FM

• Stir well before use;
• Humidity: max. 90% RH. Temperature min. 5°C; max. 30°C;
• Temperature of the paint preferably ± 18°C;
• Surface temperature should be at least 3°C above the dew point;
• Provide sufficient ventilation during application and drying.

Processing Airless sprayer

• Spray pressure: 120 -170 bar. Nozzle opening: 0.38 – 0.48 mm/ 0.015 – 0.019 inch;
• Spray angle: 50 – 80 degrees. Max. Dilute 3% with Oléus Solvent 027.

Processing Air spray

• Spray pressure 3 – 5 bar. Nozzle opening: ± 1.5 mm;
• Max. Dilute 5% with Oléus Solvent 27.

Brush/roller

• Solvent resistant brush/roller. Max. Dilute 5% with aromatic-free solvent;

  With brush/roller application the layer thickness range is smaller.

Cleaning thinner

• Aromatic-free solvent.

Drying times

Recoat time without sanding; the surface must be clean and free of contaminants.

If in doubt, consult your Oléus representative.

Surface preparation

The surface must be dry and free of salts, grease and other contaminants. Loose fitting or

remove damaged parts. Remove salts and contaminants by spraying

with clean sweetness, preferably under high pressure. Remove grease, oil and other soluble contamination

with a suitable cleaner. Roughen intact parts by sanding or blasting. Rust like that

remove as best as possible.
